Vampires Werewolf Fairies from Gozer Games 0

After Zombie Ninja Pirates , Gozer Games gives us Vampire Werewolf Fairies . I’m trying to imagine myself inside the Gozer Games theme think-tank. Do they just throw darts? Whatever. You can combine both games to play Vampire Zombies Werewolf Ninja Fairies Pirates . They rounded up some exceptional artists for the illustrations. True gamers should recognize all of the artists on the above cover.

This is necessarily the definitive explanation, but it distills down many of the important points. You can read the complete thread here . Bazin originally wrote: “In the games I played…

Interesting characters and the sliding scale 0

For me, character generation is one of the most fascinating aspects of this role-playing hobby. I love the idea of being able to build people from the ground up, quantifying their abilities and what makes them tick, and laying it all down on a sheet of paper. The challenge is being able to capture that essence, and translate it into something meaningful …

Baila, the Estonian Drinking Card Game 0

Baila is a popular Estonian drinking card game. There’s not much to the game, really: pick a card and do what it says – drink, make someone else drink, kiss someone, speak in rhymes, steal someone’s shirt, etc. Last year it was a top seller – at least it was for Fortuna Games , an Estonian game shop. Baila has a new game, this time a board game, called…

Perfect Skin: Some Musing On The Design Of Monsters 0

Monsters generally come in three parts: Stat Blocks, Descriptive passages (which some people refer to as Fluff), and Templates, enabling you to add the “monster description” to an existing race – sort of an ersatz Class. Lately, I’ve been thinking about the differing values and usefulness of books on the subject. NB: This is an unabashedly d20/3.x article. YMMV with other game systems. Reskinning…
