First Founding, a new supplement for the Deathwatch RPG has been released yesterday by Fantasy Flight Games. The book deals with the first nine space Marine chapters, formed from the loyalist legions.

On November 16, Fantasy Flight Games released First Founding, a sourcebook about the oldest Space Marine chapters. We get extensive detail on the last 4 founding chapters, not already appeared in previous books, and new options and possibilities for already established ones.

The inclusion of the 4 remaining chapters ( the Iron Hands, the Raven Guard, the Salamanders, and the White Scars), and the extensive background on the nine Traitor Legions, including  how they fall to the seduction of the Ruinous Powers, are nicely complement the information in the core rulebook.

First Founding wouldn’t be complete, if already detailed chapters wouldn’t get anything new. The book contain new roles for solo-modes, advances specialities, chapter relics, and even enable to Battle-Brothers to have followers.

The developers put a great effort into exploring the relations of the different chapters, A complete chapter of the book is devoted to the experience of joining the Deathwatch, and how could Space Marines from different chapters could successfully work together.

We also receive a new adventure, where the Kill-team has to work together with 3 different Space Marine chapters, and mediate between them when the different combat philosophies begins to clash. It’s the actions of the Kill-team what will decide the fate of an entire world.
