I made a drow character, years ago, that was loyal to his house and the family matriarchy; so loyal in fact that he would kill himself if his matriarch ordered him to (or so they believed; he would never betray them, but his death would have to have meaning for him to go through with it; suicide on a whim is wasteful). His matriarch was one of his sisters, his mother being dead already. His job was to find other locations on the surface where his other sisters might set themselves up as Lords of the land. So his families intent was to expand outside of the underdark so they would have a stronger force of soldiers, power, and influence that could support the main family still living below.]]></description>
