Essentials for D&D 4th Edition?

So what would a true RpgZ.org fan say, if he ran into a person that was interested in Dungeons & Dragons 4th Edition, but was put off by the number of books available? Which ones are needed to play? If you browse the available books there is a ton of material from Wizards of the Coast, and it looks like things will keep being released well through 2010. There is a lot out there, so if folks were on a budget and interested in taking the plunge into 4th Edition, where would they start?

Core essential buys – Of course the Player’s Handbook is the most important buy. If you’re the storyteller, Dungeon Master’s Guide, and Monster Manual is a must-have too. Along with some dice and pens & papers, you have just about everything you need to play.
