Megiddo Chess is a variant on four-player Chess. First, a thin veneer of theme is added by calling each one of the four sides by a religion (or, in one case, the devil). Second, designer Chuck Carruth adds a few variant rules for two-player play, such as diagonal starting positions or controlling two sets of pieces (3 queens and a king). ( source )
