WizKids released the Pathfinder Beginner Box Heroes product yesterday, launching the new Pathfinder Battles product line, announced earlier this year. This is a great addition to Paizo's Pathfinder Beginner Box, providing players with four plastic figures about the pre-generated characters in that product.

The Pathfinder Beginner Box Heroes includes four  prepainted plastic miniatures for use with the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game. Its compatible with other miniature lines and lots of the RPG themed maps out there, since the figures are manufactured with 1-inch round bases. This boxed set is the first product in the Pathfinder Battles miniature line, created by WizKids. All figures are prepainted and nicely sculpted, as you may check on the images. The product consist 4 figures, for the four pre-generated characters in Paizo's Pathfinder Beginner Boxed Set. They are the human cleric Kyra, the human fighter Valeros, the elf rouge Merisiel and the wizard Ezren. I think Kyra's miniature is the most beautiful of the group, with it's detailed and bright appearance, with Merisiel as a close second, but the others look fine to. The product line will be continued in December, with the Heroes and Monsters expansion, with 40 different figures ranging from goblins to frost giants. It's already available as pre-order with two type of random boosters, and as bricks. A standard booster will include one normal sized or two small mimiatures, while a large booster holds a single large figure. A brick contain 16 standard boosters and 3 large boosters, with a minimal chance for duplicates. The future releases are includes a new 60 figure set in 2012 summer, called Rise of the Runelords, which expansion will be introduced with multi-figure randomized boosters. Periodically smaller boxed sets will also appear, with pre-determined fixed content. I think the images on Paizo website are promising, so we have every reason to think that Pathfinder Battles, started with Pathfinder Beginer Box Heroes will be a successful miniature line.
