The Pirates of Drinax – a new Free Epic Campaign for Traveller !

By on December 6, 2011

Mongoose Publishing started a new free epic campaign today, The Pirates of Drinax. In this campaign the characters receive a ship and a Letter of Marque from a currently basically nonexistent kingdom, and they have the chance to leave their mark in the entire space sector.

Currently only the introduction and the first adventure is available for Mongoose Publishing‘s nem Traveller campaign, The Pirates of Drinax, on their homepage. But what is this campaign at all ?

The Empire of Drinax was located on an important merchant route in the Trojan Reach between the Imperium and the Aslan. When the Drinax asked for tolls, taxes, and bribes the Aslan get angry, and destroyed the empire. Only the floating capital city left, with everybody else on the capital planet exterminated by the invaders. But that was two hundreds years ago.

Now in a bid for power, the current king want to rebuild his empire from it’s ashes. For this task he has only one very advanced (however damaged) warship to use, and the player character to unite the systems in his name with his Letter of Marque. Of course, this won’t help them, until they don’t rebuild the Drinax Empire with negotiation and battle.

In The Pirates of Drinax it depends on the player characters if they stay loyal to the king, or they try to follow their own way. They could be bloody pirates or heroes, or they could form their own kingdom. They have to survive in the shadow of two enormous empire, so they will need all of their wits and allies they could muster in this endevaor.
