Reclaiming the Blade: A Must See for Fantasy Gamers

If you haven’t seen this documentary, you really should. Even if you aren’t a gamer but have some interest in the the history of swordplay, watch it. This documentary is focused the history of the sword and especially in the scope of the Western world. The rise and fall the art and those attempting to

Web Clip Wednesday: Girls Play D&D

There’s a really good post over at RPG Musings on Gender and RPG’s. I was going to post this clip next week but decided to move it up and add another. First by digging through the bowels of youtube I found this little mini documentary about a D&D group consisting of a male DM and

Some More Kingmaker Fun

We had another session of Kingmaker on Friday. At least this time I didn’t run into any bugs. Maybe that’s a bad sign. I dunno. This week we continued building our kingdom. Pretty much mundane stuff. Continued work on roads and built a smithy. Really the whole kingdom building thing is already starting to feel

Torchwood: Miracle Day Teaser Trailer

OK, it’s tease than trailer but can’t wait for Torchwood to return and what Starz has done with the series.

Web Clip Wednesday: Superman is still a jerk

We all know it. The headline is just polite. Superman is just a dick. Really.

Dylan Dog: Dead of Night

I love urban fantasy and this looks like it just might be a bunch of fun. And a big shout of thanks to Mike over at Wrath of Zombie who found this before I did. And yes that is Sam Huntington from SyFy’s Being Human. FYI he was in Fanboys too.

Some Dragon Age One Shot Pre-Gen Characters

I ran a little Dragon Age one shot a couple of weeks ago and I figured what the heck, I really should post the the pre-gens too. I did nine characters. I used the 10 point buy plus some of the backgrounds from the Set 2 play test documents. I also went ahead and spent

The Legend of the Skull Fairy

One of the fun things things about gaming is how sometimes things just happen spontaneously. Just one little comment can lead to a whole new bit of lore. Such is the case with the Skull Fairy. Just like any other parents, orcs want to instill certain virtues in their children. As orc children play and

Web Clip Wednesday: The Dungeon Master

Yet another gaming comedy. But I recognize some of the faces in this little clip. To be honest, I’m not sure if it’s going to be good or what. But we shall see. The Dungeon Master Trailer from The Strong Brothers on Vimeo.

Kingmaker: Welcome Storm Lake & Some Great Roleplaying

We just started our city for Kingmaker. Storm Lake. We haven’t gotten that far. We have a castle, some housing, started a road and some farm land. This part of Kingmaker is what everyone has been talking about. It’s a pretty abstract system. We’ve likened it playing Settlers of Cataan, Age of Empires or Civilization.

Web Clip Wednesday: Tales from the Table Top

Another Gamers style web series. It may have potential but really folks, I’m tired of seeing players dressing up sort of like characters. Do they think that people do that or that it’s the only way that the people in the cheap seats can figure out who is who? I dunno. But this one looks

Our Little Dragon Age One Shot

We played through the intro adventure in Set 1 (AKA: The Dalish Curse). Reviews were a little mixed from the players. There were four players, three veterans and one newbie. The party was fairly balanced. We had two warriors, a rogue and a mage. Over all, everyone liked the game and the mechanics. Folks did

You could have at least kissed my first, AT&T

It’s Monday and it keeps being Monday. I read this little gem over the net earlier today and I’m still a pretty pissed about it. Let’s see. Hmm. The argument boils down to this. AT&T claims that they really can’t handle the traffic of the bandwidth hogs. It’s difficult to tell since they I doubt

Web Clip Wednesday: Blood Light more great vampire fun

This week got some good NSFW vampire fun with Blood Light. This is pretty good little comedy web series with just my kind of off beat humor and just the right amount geekiness thrown in. Watch and laugh, kids.

Another Kingmaker Session Is History

We finished up another session of Kingmaker and the characters are up to third level! What can I say about this session? Well, I continue with my mess with bugs every session tradition. This week it was a giant trap door spider. This time it wasn’t much of a bother but our cavalier did use
