Pathfinder RPG Spellcards, for free!

I know free stuff is usually Youseph’s topic but I discovered this website this week and I’m thrilled. As you doubtlessly know I’m a Pathfinder RPG fan and have run a weekly game for the past year. Even if I don’t play D&D 4 th edition I can tell you many things I liked about the game, one of them was the ability, with the DDI , of printing power cards. I’ve…

Zombie cards and my absence from the site

Hey folks!  To get some business out of the way, you won’t be seeing much of me on Troll in the Corner for a few weeks.  I’m set to go in to Surgery tomorrow and am expecting it to take a few weeks for me to recover.   That’s the not so good news. The good news is, late last night Eric dropped off …

In which we team up with Gamer’s Haven and I get interviewed

It’s been a busy couple of days that have led to a very cool partnership!  Gamer’s Haven have graciously set aside a chunk of forum space for us here at Troll in the Corner !  Ethan from Gamer’s Haven and I have been talking a bit about combining forces on various projects and this represents the first step in that direction.  A big thanks…

The Advanced Player’s Guide the Pathfinder Role Playing Game: More Thoughts

I promised a few more thoughts and well here they are. The Pathfinder RPG is pretty darned and cool my group has been playing since the beta test and we’re all pretty happy with it. This book turns it up to 11. First chapter is Character Races. This is pretty neat stuff. This is alternate

Book Review – Pathfinder Advanced Player’s Guide

One of the things that excited me the most about going to GenCon was the chance to see the booths of not only new companies, but those whose games I already play. Paizo was one of those companies. I use Pathfinder for my home game, so having the chance to pick up some of their products directly from them was cool. I got my hands on both the …

A massive Aruneus update – lots of new art and a layout artist joins us!

Here’s an update on the ongoing Aruneus Project .  The world was a large place. The Humans, Elves, Dwarves, and Orcs existed if not in peace, at least able to survive with each other. Empires were formed, lives created and destroyed, magic flourished, and for a brief time Humanity strove to master Aruneus. Then the undead scourge broke the world. First and foremost – while work…

Electronic Tools for Gaming – The iPhone

I’ll admit it, I was a holdover. I didn’t make the switch to an iPhone until last winter. Before that I had an ancient Palm Treo that worked perfectly well for years. I used it to browse the internet, and on it I planned many adventures and campaigns. I had used an iPhone and loved it so when I had the chance to end my old mobile phone contract …

Obsidian Twilight: A Place Beyond Hell

I don’t often shill products but once in a while I hear about something that I just think is a really cool idea. LPJ Design has this pretty neat setting for Pathfinder. It’s called Obsidian Twilight. It’s a cross between Ravenloft and Dark Sun, a post apocalyptic horror setting. It’s actually pretty cool. He’s planning

The first two items in Paizo’s next Adventure Path: Serpent’s Skull are now out and available in PDF format. The Player’s Guide is free, #37, Souls for the Smuggler’s Shiv , sells for $13.99 for the PDF.

Harsk: A dwarf armiger [Character]

Used with permission. Harsk is my first playtest character of OtherWorld Creations’ Genius Guide to the Armiger .  You can read my review here .  Harsk debuted in the finale of my summer Pathfinder game with great success.  He was a crowd pleaser for both his gruff but loyal manner and his success at fending off an oytugh.  I look…

Summer Pathfinder campaign complete…for now [Game]

On Wednesday night, we finished our summer Pathfinder game.  Afterwards, my players enthusiastically wished we could continue during the year and agreed to try a series of one-shots.  Believe you me, I got a big warm fuzzy feeling over that one. We estimated that we spent about 20 hours of game time playing over the course of the summer.  The group sometimes grew as large as six…

Pathfinder Advanced Player’s Guide

I thought that this was going to be cool. I was wrong. It’s just fantastic. If you’re playing Pathfinder just pick this up and drop every one of your old 3.5 splat books. You won’t need them. I’m still trying to digest all the info that is in this book. Tweaks and new abilities for

We have our winners! The International Pathfinder Contest!

This morning I hit the old random number generator and gathered up our 16 winners! First, a quick breakdown. We had 362 individuals enter, with a total of 2,532 entries generated. Out of all of those entries, just under 60% came from the continental US, with England and Australia following in second and third place for number of entries (total). 15 people didn’t tell me where they were from, so…

Review: Kobold Quarterly Issue 14

Currently I play none of the games which are regularly covered by Kobold Quarterly , but so far I’ve enjoyed reading every issue I got my hands on. Aside from a lot of material for games like D&D 4th Edition, Pathfinder or even Dragon Age, a large portion of the magazine contains articles that apply to any fantasy game. And in most …

What about the GameMastery Guide? A review…

The Paizo GameMastery Guide is an excellent companion to the Pathfinder RPG Core Rule Book . The Core Rulebook combines all the rules you used to find in the old D&D 3.5 Player’s Handbook and Dungeon Master’s Guide into one book, but there was much more ground to cover, especially for the Game Master. Enter the GameMastery Guide, full of advice, ideas and rules for new and experienced …
