The Enemy Within campaign (WFRP) is announced !
Last week Fantasy Flight Games announced the release of The Enemy Within campaign for Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay. In this legendary campaign the players must face the most dangerous enemy of the proud Empire, the enemy within…
For those who don’t know about it’s history, let me speak about the original The Enemy Within. The classic campaign was originally released in the late 1980s, and it’s currently considered one of the greatest roleplaying adventures released to this time by many players. It’s feature a world shaking story arc, in which the action of a small team of heroes is the only thing which could save the Empire from it’s greatest enemy.
Based on the announcement, they will bring a brand new story, which is based on the concepts and the themes of the original. I’m looking forward, how this will turn out.
About the story
Two years before the campaign, the Elector of Averland, Marius Leitdorf was died as a hero in the Third Battle of Black Fire Pass. Sadly, Leitdorf left no clear heir, which started a period of uncertainty. Now a shadowy villain conspires with the enemies of the Empire to take advantage.
Since that more and more alarming has taken place in Averheim. People die or go missing, as a new power try to estabilish itself in the city’s underground. People speaking about a new, sinister force gathering power. The powers of Chaos are ready to strike against the Empire. There is only a small group of heroes who could stop the conspiracy and the Black Cowl.
Let’s the adventure begin…
The Enemy Within campaign is due to release in third quarter of 2012.
It will include enough material for at least 30 sessions, including cards, sheets and handouts to improve the experience. Game Masters also receive a big number of villains, encounters and other things to use, and to personalize their Warhammer campaign.
