Today, we present a review about another Rite Publishing product to the Pathfinder roleplaying-game. With it's rather long title - Faces of Tarnished Souk: Kahrvass Fleymbrow, Smith of Burning Desire (PFRPG) - the book offers not only the title character in great detail, but also several useful additions to the Pathfinder RPG.

This compact sourcebook contain 12 pages of tightly-packed content, which could be divided into two parts. The first part holds information and statistics about Kahrvass Fleymbrow, a magma azer artisan, and the how-to about incorporating him into a campaign. We receive some details about his background, as well as his game statistics for 3 different level (CR 20, 15 and 8). There are several possible adventure seeds, which we could use in a campaign, and we could  even get the chance to change Karvass Fleymbrow's fate.

However, I think it's the second part of the book which could appeal to more players than the respectable azer : we receive a new player class (Artisan), and several feats tied to crafting, with some additional things (like the Magma Creature template and two magic items) to round things up.

Karvass Fleymbrow himself is a very interesting character, who could appear several different ways in the players life. Maybe, they are looking for the unmatched artisan to create a specific item (or even a specific creature !), or maybe one of the players' enemies already ordered something from him, and the characters have to find out a weak spot to face the opposition. Basically, there are not many magic items, which could not be made by the azer, at least theoretically.

Artisan : a character class, I always wanted to see...

For me, the best thing in the book is the inclusion of the new Artisan class. It's basically a very specialized magic user, who could create magic items, instead of casting spells directly as the core classes do. The crafting skill of the class are unmatched, especially because it could have access to the spell list more than one spellcasting class. I'm not sure, if I like the idea that Artisans could even use divine spells in this regard, being a non-divine class, but I guess it's a matter of personal taste. Since they could access only a limited number of spells per level, and they use they abilities only for crafting, I don't think it would be overpowered.

By selecting our spells and item creation feats, we could really personalize our own Artisans. and if these options would not be enough for some players, the book offers about a dozen new feat to chose from. most of these are usable by any character with item creation feats.

... and there is even more

Did you ever wondered, where those magical beasts and aberrations you always encounter in different sourcebooks are coming from ? Look no further! There are actual "item" creation feats to do that in this book. There are also several feats which could ease the life of any artificer, to make crafting faster, easier, or even cheaper.

As I already mentioned, we receive a Magma creature template (with sample creatures) as well as two thematic magic items, which I don't want to spoil for you. I think the template could be very useful, if you would like to have some beast, created by Fleymbrow.

In the end, this short supplement is really deliver, so I give it 5/5 without hesitation.
