Cubus Games, the developers behind Heavy Metal Thunder, Sol Invictus (both honoured with Pocket Gamer Silver Award), Necklace of Skulls (Pocket Gamer Bronze Award) and The Sinister Fairground, are funding their last project on Kickstarter.
The Frankenstein Wars is a Next-Gen gamebook, enhanced by interactive maps, time sensitive missions, weather affecting the story and two main characters the user can control at the same time. The story is set in an alternative 19th century -Gothic and Victorian atmosphere: “Tom and Anton Clerval have long guarded the secret to Victor Frankenstein's resurrection technology.
In revolutionary France, in 1827, that secret at last comes to light. The radical Zeroiste movement creates an army of the reanimated dead to seize control of the country, and then to cross the Channel to strike at the heart of the British Empire.
Only Tom and Anton have the power to halt the Zeroistes - or to stoke the flames of all-out war.”
Behind this project there’s:
-Dave Morris providing the original idea and his talent as an author and game designer.
-Paul Gresty is the main writer of the gamebook. He’s an experienced interactive fiction writer, with gamebooks, apps and rpgs in his resume.
-Rafater provides the artwork. He’s a professional illustrator who works for international companies like Games Workshop.
-Cubus Games creates multimedia design and code for this app, coordinating everything.
If funded, the game will be available in app format, for both iOS and Android markets.
